Reception Class 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Temporary (initially for two terms) and part-time in our Reception Class 1-1 Term time only 5 mornings per week.

Nether Stowey Primary School is a School where all children are supported to achieve their full potential. We are looking for a dedicated teaching assistant to join our successful team, working 1 to 1 with a child in our reception class during the morning sessions and lunch time. Although the role is initially for two terms it is highly likely that this will be extended. The post will commence as soon as possible.

We are looking for someone who will:

  • Work 1:1 with a child in a reception class, supporting their learning and general physical development.
  • Undertake general duties under the instruction of the class teacher to support the aims and ethos of Nether Stowey Primary School
  • Have experience, or prior knowledge, of supporting children with additional needs
  • Have experience of the EYFS curriculum and be knowledgeable in how to support the development of children from the age of four.
  • Be creative in approach and provide opportunities to develop children’s learning.
  • Be a team player and flexible in approach.
  • Be willing (subject to training) to provide intimate care, manual handling and first aid.
  • Be effective at implementing agreed behaviour management strategies
  • To establish supportive relationships with the pupil concerned
